BUSK: Children and young people’s voices
Children and young people’s own input to the forthcoming white paper on child and youth culture.
The report "Barn og unges stemmer - Kunst og kultur" (also known as the BUSK report) was handed over to the Ministry of Culture on September 30th 2019 as part of the development of the forthcoming white paper on the arts and culture for children and young people. The report has gathered a selection of opinions from the target group.

23 measures that children and young people believe would benefit them in the field of the arts and culture
- Create more opportunities adapted to different age groups at public cultural institutions
- Strengthen the collaboration between children/young people and professionals within the arts and culture
- Encourage and strengthen UKM and other national/regional meeting places for youths interested in culture and the arts
- Strengthen and establish schemes for the development of talent as well as vocational education in the arts and culture for children and young people
- Introduce universal design of all arts and cultural arenas
- Improve opportunities in the field of the arts and culture for children and young people with disabilities
- Create better and more easily accessible information about existing art and cultural activities
- Improve discount schemes for children and young people to enable cheaper admission to cultural events and activities
- Eliminate the waiting period at cultural schools and lower the participation fee
- Establish public support schemes for young people in rural areas so that it becomes easier for them to take part in larger cultural events
- Increase public transport and lower prices so that it becomes easier to travel to and from various cultural activities
- Further develop opportunities within the arts and culture in kindergartens
- Increase the number of visits from The Cultural Schoolbag during school hours
- Hire more teachers educated in practical-aesthetic subjects
- Make more physical meeting places available for gaming and LAN events
- Establish more arenas for the purpose of training and exchanging of experience and competence in digital media and art expressions
- Promote digital media and its artistic expressions at the same level as other forms of culture
- Establish more arenas for cultural interaction and sharing of knowledge
- Look after existing youth clubs and informal meeting places and establish new ones
- Maintain and widen the breadth of local cultural activities
- Improve libraries by offering relevant literature for children and young people as well as providing free lending schemes for equipment for arts and creative activities
- Encourage children and young people's participation in the design of cultural activities
- Facilitate self-organized activities that mirror changes in children and young people’s culture
